So Proud

Well I am so proud of my wife. She is not only a wonderful wife and mother but she is a brilliant author too. She has written two children's books The Pixie Chronicles, a book for teenagers and adults - Ominous Tales and a Novel - Angel of Mine.

We recently found a review that had been put on Waterstones for Angel of Mine and I am so pleased for her - it is a wonderful review. This is what the person had written:-

"I have read many many books in my time as I am an avid reader and how I judge how good a book is by how much I enjoyed it, how much the book draws me in to the point where I almost feel like you are there with the characters and there are some good books out there that are engrossing and that you can't out down till you have finished as this is one of those books and I would definitely recommend this book as one of those books.I did not know anything about the author but a few female friends and I often recommend books to each other and I was going on holiday for 2 weeks of lying in the sun and decided this was 1 of the books I would take with me, I started to read it on the plane as it was the book I was most looking forward to and when I read the 1st page it made me feel for the character Marie and I could relate to that situation in my own life and most people's lives, the book is very fast paced and doesn't seem to have a lull anywhere in it as there is a few characters and someone is always doing something or having something happen in their lives, after reading on the plane I carried on reading while lying on the beach and when I got to the end I was wanting to read more It also delves in to a world that many of us wonder about and would love to know more about but dare not to ask and it deals with it sensitively and bluntly which is pretty much what the real world is about.I am not sure if the author has drawn from personal experience for this book but it seems very in-depth of the characters emotions and feelings and sometimes it makes you want to dive in and give one of them a cuddle or reach for a tissue.I would be very interested to see if there is any other books by this author that are in the same vein as I found that she writes children's books that also got good reviews but as my children are all grown up so probably a bit old for those books but to end this review I would say take a chance on this lesser known author and I don't think you will be disappointed All in all a very good read!!! Daddys Day

I had a lovely day with my youngest today, everyone else was out so rather than rushing around and doing things I decided to spend quality time with him and it was lovely. He is just so funny, he laughs and smiles at everything. Today especially he was a real joy to be with.

Annoying words

My wife was watching Loose Women and they were talking about the most annoying words in an argument. The most annoying word that my wife uses in an argument is "WHATEVER" she tells me though the most annoying words that I use in an argument is "END OF" - she says that drives her insane.

So DISAPPOINTED

We are so disappointed. We watched Hex - the last episode was so lame and weak. After all that waiting as well - we were well upset.

Hex

Another thing we have been waiting to watch is the last episode of Hex - for some reason it was never sent from the rental company but believe it is now on its way so we can't wait for that!

Quantom of Solace

Finally - I have been waiting to see this for ages. I was very disappointed. Where was Q, where were the gadgets? This could just of been any old action film - it was so not James Bondy!

Dexter

We watched our next disc of Dexter. I can totally see why Dexter would be with Lila, my wife however prefers Rita (this could be due to the fact Julie Benz used to be in Buffy and Angel lol). Although even I must admit that up to yesterday I thought Lila was brilliant and then she has suddenly changed from being really cool and strong to being physycotic and needy. My wife also is getting excited about the relationship between Deborah and Lundy, there are so many twists and turns in Dexter and your never quite sure who is stabbing who in the back.

Sweet Dreams

My wife told me this morning that she had a dream about Keith Allen last night - what goes on in my wife's mind is anyones guess lol.

Gavin & Stacy

We love watching Gavin and Stacy. Even the comic relief one was brill and so funny. Tom Jones was very good in it too.

Dexter

My wife and I started watching Dexter (well she started, then she press-ganged me into watching it but have to say we are hooked). We are just watching Season Two at the moment. It is brilliant and even though at times dark it can also be really funny. We are on the edge of our seats at the moment incase he is going to be caught, he keeps dodging though. Dexter has just slept with Lila - think they are very well suited.

Keira

Keira Knightly is one of my favourite actresses, not just because she is beautiful she is also talented. Loved her in Pirates, my wife's favourite character she has done was Eliza Bennett in Pride and Prejudice and also in Love Actually. We watched Atonement but my wife hated her character in that - I however loved it lol.

Dexter/Battlestar Gallactica/Resident Evil

Must be something about the red dress lol.

Planet of the Dead

Well I am at Thruxton marshalling today and my wife has just texted me to say that her and her friend are watching Dr Who Planet of the Dead - yes I am a Dr who fan but this one especially would interest me - Michelle Ryan is in it - whats not too like!!!

Stacy Rules

Me and my wife were watching Gavin and Stacy - we love it. We love all the characters but I have to say the one I like best is Stacy - she is so sweet and has that girl next door look to her. My wife's fave is Nessa.

Fathers Day

Well My wife has promised that I am going to be pampered all day - we shall see. I got a lie in so thats a good start then I'm getting a fry-up and an amazing tea - I know its amazing as WE did it last night so all she had to was turn it on this morning - notice the emphasis on WE lol. Anyway the most important part is I am spending it with my kids, as long as they are seen and not heard during the Grand Prix of course, lol.

Twitter

My wife has just joined Twitter - now I get even less sense out of her than I used to. She is on there permanently and is addicted. What is it all about? I just don't get it?

On The Buses

No this is not my cup of tea and I absolutely refuse to watch it. I do question certain things my wife watches but this has to have the biggest question of all! Even my kids are turning into fans. My wife just rang to say that their favourite bit is in Holiday on the Buses where Olive jumps into the swimming pool and her bikini bottoms comes off the kids find it hillarious. My son has just said he likes Olive - bless him - well he is only four. Apparently they have just watched that and now they are watchig Mutiny on the Buses!!!

Kylie

Definately a hottie. My wife and I were watching TV and clips of Kylie in her 'I should be so lucky' days came on - well she has certainly changed since then. My wife said and I agreed that we liked her in the days before she was cool (my wife commented that she also had all jason donovans records too - I drew the line at that!)

Ghost Town

Just seen a brilliant DVD - when it started I wasn't sure but it had us in fits, I definately recommend it. Ghost Town starring Ricky Gervais.

Brands

Had a brilliant day Marshalling at Brands Hatch yesterday, I am there today as well, hot weather ? You should try standing in probands all day - I was fried by the end of it. Two hour car journey home, chinese and then we settled down and watched Hex which my wife had hired, I only managed one episode before I was asleep.

Martha

Oh Yes - Definately a hottie!

Dr Who?

My wife has gradually turned me from quite a sane person into a Dr Who fan. I have watched Series 2 and 4 and tonight she has borrowed series 3 - I can hardly wait ha ha. No I must admit I don't mind them as much as I thought I would although I have heard murmerings that now I've accepted my fate that I must be a Dr Who geek she has been heard to say that she will have to get me into Torchwood. We will see. Anyway the question is will I think Martha Jones is as 'hot'as Rose or Donna. She has bribed me by telling me that Christina Cole from Hex is going to be in The Shakespeare Code episode of Dr Who so I look forward to that anyway.

Do you get this?

O.k. I have to know. Why is it that my wife and many other women are obsessed with Marco Pierre White - like many men I do not understand this. We have to watch him on tv, I go to the fridge and his picture is magnetted on, I even turned on my computer to find my wife had changed the picture to his!

Dog Soldiers

Last night I borrowed Dog Soldiers off a mate. My wife had told me about it years ago, she had seen it at the cinema and had laughed when Sean Pertwee's intestines had come out because it was clearly a string of sausages. I have to say I thought it would be rubbish but actually it was quite good.

TATTOO

Well the reason that I missed out on the BTCC at Donnington was my wife decided it would be way more fun for me to look after the kids while she went to support her friend having a tattoo. Anyway, as I said it was raining and not a very good weekend weather wise so probably for the best. Anyway our friend got her first tattoo done and my wife was enjoying see her friend in pain! Not sympathetic at all! She got a tattoo outline done and is going back next month for the colour.

Missed Donnington

Well I watched the British Touring Cars yesterday live from Donnington, I was supposed to be there but my wife had other ideas! Usually I get to marshall most weekends I want to, so can't be too hard on her lol. Anyway secretly I was relieved not to have gone as it was tipping down so I sat at home and watched it in my warm dry front room and laughed at my friends who were marshalling instead.
